Salesforce API Integration Services

A successful API call is only the start. Macrofix helps you connect Salesforce with approved business applications through defined interfaces, field contracts, access rules and recovery behavior. We design around your actual workflow, data volume and platform constraints, then test the connected-system outcome before handover.

Connect Applications With Clear Interface Contracts

ERP hub connected to customer, commerce, warehouse and reporting systems, with an exception inbox

Your integration may need an immediate response, a scheduled data exchange or an event-driven handoff. We assess direction, timing, ownership and failure consequences before choosing an interface. The scope identifies which Salesforce objects, external endpoints, environments and business actions are included.

For a wider integration-platform program, explore our MuleSoft services. For CRM-to-operations workflows, see Salesforce ERP integration. One-time historical data moves belong in our migration service.

Salesforce API Delivery From Assessment to Handover

Our API integration service covers the interface work needed for an agreed application connection: pattern selection, contracts, authorized access design, implementation, error handling, test evidence and operating documentation. Existing APIs and middleware are reviewed before new code is proposed. Each deliverable is scoped against the capabilities and entitlements available in your environments.

Integration Pattern and API Selection

We compare request-and-response, batch and event-based options against your use case. REST, SOAP, Bulk and event interfaces are candidates rather than an automatic bundle. Volume, latency, direction, transaction boundaries and maintenance responsibility inform the choice. Salesforce’s integration-pattern guidance provides a reference for these design decisions.

Data Contracts and Endpoint Development

We define included objects, field mappings, identifiers, required values, relationships and response behavior before building the interface. Contracts explain how callers submit requests, how results are recognized and what happens when validation fails. Custom endpoints or transformations are developed only where the agreed use case requires them, with version and change responsibilities documented.

Authorization and Access Design

We plan authorized application access, permitted operations and credential ownership with your administrators. The design reviews the appropriate OAuth flow and current external-client-app or existing connected-app arrangements, rather than assuming a shared administrator login. See Salesforce’s API authorization guidance. Actual access approval and credential handling follow your organization’s controls.

Limits, Errors and Recovery Behavior

API limits, timeout behavior and unavailable endpoints shape the implementation. We document which errors can be retried, which require correction and who owns the exception queue. Repeated requests, partial results and duplicate records are considered explicitly so a retry does not silently repeat a business action. Capacity and recovery targets are agreed for the interfaces in scope, not promised for every Salesforce edition.

Testing, Deployment and Operating Handover

Tests check field values, relationships, authorization boundaries, responses and failure paths as well as the business outcome in the receiving application. Relevant volume and timeout scenarios are included in the agreed test plan. Deployment readiness covers environment-specific settings, ownership, release sequencing and recovery instructions. Handover explains how operators recognize, investigate and escalate interface failures.

Agree Your API Integration Blueprint

Your blueprint identifies supported systems, selected interfaces, data contracts, environments, dependencies and acceptance evidence. It separates API delivery from middleware licensing, hosting, recurring monitoring and application support. Where discovery finds an unsupported endpoint or insufficient entitlement, the scope records that dependency before implementation proceeds.

Keep Access and Data Ownership Explicit

Client administrators approve application access and nominate data and operational owners. Integration design uses the permissions and environments agreed for the workload; credentials are handled through approved secret-management practices and are not embedded in handover documents. Test data and logs are reviewed for sensitive values. Business owners decide acceptable outcomes and exception responsibilities.

Our Salesforce API Integration Process

We move from an interface inventory to a tested connection through controlled steps. Design decisions and open dependencies remain visible throughout delivery. Changes to objects, fields or external contracts are assessed against the agreed scope before they enter the release.

Validate the Interface and Business Outcome Together

Acceptance confirms that the intended data and action reach the right system under the agreed conditions. A response code alone is not sufficient evidence. We review representative valid requests, rejected requests, repeated submissions and recovery behavior, then record remaining limitations and the operating handover.

Salesforce API Integration FAQs

The agreed scope can include interface assessment, pattern selection, data contracts, access design, endpoint or client development, error handling, testing, deployment planning and operational handover. We identify the applications, objects, actions and environments covered. Every API or platform capability is not automatically included.

We assess REST, SOAP, Bulk and event-based options against direction, timing, volume and supported application capabilities. The selected interface depends on your workflow and available entitlements. We do not recommend one API for every use case or assume that all editions expose the same capabilities.

No. Some connections can use suitable Salesforce and external APIs directly or through middleware you already operate. MuleSoft is a separate platform option for broader orchestration, reusable assets and API management requirements. Discovery determines the appropriate architecture rather than adding a platform by default.

Not automatically. Response timing, API allocations, event capacity, external-system limits and failure behavior affect delivery. We agree the required timing and expected workload, then assess feasible options and dependencies. The service does not promise unlimited calls, instant synchronization or zero downtime.

We agree an appropriate application authorization design with your administrators, including the current external-client-app or existing connected-app arrangement, OAuth flow, permitted operations and credential ownership. Client approval and approved secret-management procedures remain required. We do not ask teams to share a general administrator password.

The agreed test plan reviews data mappings, relationships, authorization boundaries, responses, failures, repeated requests and connected-system business outcomes. Relevant workload and recovery scenarios are included in scope. Acceptance records evidence, remaining limitations and operational responsibilities; an HTTP success response alone is not proof of a completed business workflow.

Plan Your Salesforce API Integration

Tell us which applications you want to connect, the business action involved, expected timing and approximate data volume. We will assess interface availability and dependencies, then propose a scoped Salesforce API integration engagement. Include existing middleware and known failure points so the plan reflects your current landscape.
