A completed import is not the same as a trusted migration. Macrofix scopes Salesforce data migration around the records, relationships and history your teams need, with approved mapping, controlled test loads, reconciliation, cutover decisions and operational handover.
Moving from a legacy CRM, spreadsheets or another Salesforce environment starts with deciding what belongs in the target system. Some information needs transformation, some needs retention outside the CRM and some should not be moved at all. Your business owners approve those decisions before loading begins.
Our Salesforce migration service focuses on transferring agreed business data into the target environment. A full Salesforce implementation, ongoing system integration or a Data Cloud data foundation has a different scope. Lightning interface modernization and metadata redevelopment are assessed separately from moving records.
We define the source systems, target objects, data volumes, history requirements and acceptance evidence before agreeing delivery. The plan separates data preparation, transfer and reconciliation from configuration or code redevelopment. No blanket promise is made to move every legacy field, attachment or historical transaction unchanged.
Inventory the selected source objects, record owners and retention needs. Review quality issues, extraction availability and target readiness with business stakeholders. Agree inclusions, exclusions and the migration boundary so the team knows which records are moving and which remain in an archive or source system.
Create a mapping workbook for approved fields, required values and transformations. Data owners decide how duplicates, missing references and conflicting values should be handled. We document those rules and test representative samples before approving the prepared load files. Clean-up does not mean silently discarding records that failed a check.
Plan identifiers and object dependencies so selected records retain their intended relationships. Salesforce’s external-ID guidance explains supported related-record matching and its limitations. We assess the actual fields and tools for your migration, including references that need a different mapping approach.
Run authorized rehearsal loads and compare the results with approved source samples and rules. Review successes, errors and unmatched references before deciding what to retry or correct. Salesforce’s data-loading best practices include counts, spot checks and exception review; our acceptance plan defines the evidence for your selected objects.
Define the change window, final extraction or delta handling, load sequence and business sign-off. Name owners for each decision and for any recovery response if checks fail. Handover records the migration outcome, exceptions and remaining source-system responsibilities. Decommissioning, data deletion and recurring synchronization are separate authorized activities.
The blueprint connects source scope to field mappings, relationship strategy, rehearsal results and cutover steps. It records preparation responsibilities, tool fit, assumptions and open dependencies. File and attachment handling, activity history, ownership and inaccessible source records are assessed explicitly rather than assumed transferable in every scenario.
Use authorized data access and an agreed approach to test samples, storage and retention. Backups and recovery decisions are part of the project plan. Salesforce’s Data Loader operation guidance distinguishes insert, update and upsert and provides result logs. We approve the intended operation and matching behavior before a production load.
Assess the source and target, map approved records, prepare and test samples, rehearse with reconciliation, then perform the authorized cutover and handover. Each stage has evidence and named approvals. When source quality or target dependencies block acceptance, record the issue and agree a correction or scope decision before proceeding.
Reconcile agreed counts, field samples and relationships, then review rejected or excluded records with their owners. Check how migrated data appears in the selected business workflows and reports. Acceptance includes documented exceptions and decisions; a successful job status alone does not prove completeness or correct business meaning.
The agreed service can cover source assessment, field mapping, transformation rules, identifiers and relationships, rehearsal loads, reconciliation, cutover and handover. We name the sources, objects, history and acceptance criteria in the plan. Unlimited archives, metadata redevelopment and ongoing integrations are not automatically included.
We can assess selected legacy CRMs, files or Salesforce environments when authorized source access and target capabilities are available. Feasibility depends on extraction quality, relationships, custom fields, history and product differences. We confirm those dependencies before promising transfer scope.
No. Changing the Salesforce user experience can involve layouts, components, automation and compatibility work without being a move of all records to another database. We assess modernization separately and identify any actual data-transfer requirement so the project does not confuse interface change with record migration.
That cannot be assumed. Source access, supported fields, file handling, relationships, quality issues and cutover constraints affect the result. We agree transfer boundaries, test evidence, change windows and recovery decisions. Exceptions are documented rather than hidden behind a zero-loss or zero-downtime guarantee.
We agree matching keys, relationship mappings, load order and duplicate-handling decisions with data owners, then test representative records. Reconciliation includes unmatched references and failed rows. Retry behavior is reviewed to avoid treating every re-run as a fresh insert; no matching strategy is assumed perfect without evidence.
The migration handover records source-system responsibilities, archives and unresolved items. Decommissioning, license cancellation or deleting old data requires a separate approved plan. A completed Salesforce load does not authorize us to remove the source system or dispose of retained records.
Tell us your source systems, target Salesforce products and the records or history needed for launch. Macrofix can help define a migration assessment and scoped delivery plan with mapping, rehearsals, reconciliation and cutover ownership. Tool licenses, source access, extensive clean-up and ongoing support are confirmed separately.
